An historic and common vehicle in Europe but rare in the U.S. Pronounced “Ah-Pay” and derived from the Italian for “bee,” these three-wheeled scooters were developed in 1945. They were designed to handle the small roads in Italy and used primarily for farming and light delivery. Their small body and attention-grabbing design makes them prime material for marketing uses across Europe.

Our story is part luck and part love. And we are delighted to share our pieces of this world with you here in Atlanta. Our story begins ten years ago in 2012. When Sunny and David began traveling together to experience the amazing cultures, people, and cuisines of this beautiful world. Sunny has always been the planner of our relationship. She is the one conducting massive research on where to eat before each trip. David is kind of the polar opposite, he doesn't plan... at all. He enjoys adventuring the unknown, taking each day and each bite by surprise. Whether we traveled to different continents or different states, we wanted to somehow bring our favorite parts of it back home with us. And that's where we had a crazy idea. After moving to Atlanta in 2015, we fell in love with the neapolitan-style pizzas here. It's a lighter pizza that we could enjoy and still be able to move around for the rest of the day (without feeling like we got hit by a truck!). So pizzas became our vessel of sharing our favorite parts of our trips back home with you. We were lucky to have met so many amazing people from our travels. Some of them were able to hand us our favorite recipes crafted and passed down from generations of their culture. The ones we were able to get a hold of are the ones on our menu. And so we will continue to travel... and continue to find new ways to share our favorites back home with you....

In 2019 we moved to Miami with the intention of building a slice shop that rivaled Miami’s best pizza. Upon arrival, we took over a friend’s local arepera, which would later become the pizza lab where Miami Slice would come to life. Part of La Latina’s kitchen became a space for perfecting Miami’s best NY-slice. After endless dough iterations, it was only when we achieved the crunch and flavor we have today that we began sharing it with Miami — you can’t rush the craft. We started offering our pizza for curbside pickup, all from the pizza lab where we developed our recipes. Friends & family came to visit and sample our flavors, and these intimate gatherings quickly became tradition. Spending over two years sharing slices and drinks at the lab, after the curbside shift was done, is what ultimately shaped our concept, turning it into the slice bar it is today. In 1893 from Genoa, Don Agustin Banchero arrives at the port of Buenos Aires. Like most Genoese immigrants, he settled in the neighborhood of La Boca. Don Agustin set up a bakery on Olavarria Street, where his son Juan works. In that bakery called Riachuelo, FUGAZZA CON QUESO was born, a specialty that made history in culinary art. On March 28, 1932 Juan Banchero became independent from the paternal business and, together with his sons Tito and Antonio, inaugurated the traditional PIZZERIA BANCHERO in the same corner of Boquense where it is still functioning today. This site became a meeting place for artists of the time: the painter Quinquela Martin (great friend of the banchero family) Luis Sandrini, Tita Merello, Eva Duarte de Peron "Evita", Tomas Simari and many others. Currently, the new generations of the Banchero family continue to lead the pizzerias, to provide an excellent service and ensure the continuity of the quality that made this pizzeria famous since the beginning . Vittorio Assaf and Fabio Granato were already good friends when they became unexpectedly lost at sea. Stranded in a small boat, exposed to the elements and without any food, they daydreamed of the perfect pizza. Inspired by the pizza of my childhood growing up in New York City, Danny Boy’s Famous Original is my answer to the enduring question: “where can I get a great New York style slice here in LA?”. Danny Boy’s is the slice joint of my childhood dreams, reimagined to meet the exacting standards of today's discerning food-loving generation: Classic New York City style pizza, overstuffed hot hero sandwiches, and creative farm-fresh salads that aren’t an afterthought. All made with great ingredients, thoughtfully prepared with passion. As a classically trained chef, I approach pizza with reverence. Pizza isn’t fast food, it’s one of America’s most important dishes. And to understand how to make it great I had to deconstruct everything about it. I searched out masters from the 5 boroughs and beyond. Learned the history (the dough syndicate, the Ray’s rivalry). I sampled thousands of pies from the greatest pizza parlors in the 50 states. I interrogated oven makers, traveled to tomato farms, auditioned flour mills (sampling grains grown East and West of the Mississippi), I experimented with the perfect cheese blend (and fat content) to achieve optimal taste and stretch. And after hundreds and maybe thousands of different recipes served to friends and family, I finally arrived at… the perfect slice. As for the name, Danny Boy is what my pop called me and Famous Original is an homage to the slice shop he brought me to growing up, Ray’s Famous Original on 3rd Avenue. There was nothing fancy about it, just a consistently delicious pepperoni pie, an ice cold root beer and a warm and welcoming “How you doing?” from behind the counter. LA is home to some of the greatest Pizza in the world. I’m proud to join the community, striving daily to make the best pie I can. Bakeries, bread routes, long nights — and that’s what built the shop. We still mix every batch by hand and make our own mozzarella because that’s the way I was taught. No shortcuts. The place has grown, sure, but the work hasn’t changed. We’re lucky to have lines out the door, and even luckier to call the people in those lines our neighbors and friends. At the end of the day, it’s simple: good dough, good cheese, and a lot of care. That’s all we’ve ever had, and it’s all we need.

We were going to school in New Orleans, but both originally from New York. We bonded over a shared a passion for food; cooking it and talking about it. One of our favorite pastimes was complaining about our local pizza options. Being from New York, one thing we had ingrained in us was a strong sense of what a good, honest, slice of pizza was. And we were not finding it. Couldn’t we do better? For a long while, the idea of Pizza Delicious was just that, an occasional brainstorm. We were, after all, 2 liberal arts majors with no background in restaurants. Things changed when we were fortuitously introduced to an aging industrial bakery space, hiding on an otherwise all residential block in the Bywater. “The Kitchen”, as we called it, had an industrial dough mixer, a couple of deck ovens, and tons of character. It was pretty much everything we needed. We began spending our Sundays teaching ourselves the craft of making pizza. Instead of old family recipes, we used the internet and our taste-buds. After a couple of months of adjusting the hydration % on our dough recipe, we thought we had something. It was that combination of cheese (not too much), sauce (not too sweet) and crust (crispy, but still chewy) that reminded us of home. We were ready to share. When we first opened our Sunday night only pop-up we had no business plan, or really any plan at all. There was just the aforementioned craving for pizza, a badass looking flier that our friend Bud had drawn, and a pay-as-you-go cell phone that had $10 on it. To order you would call the number on the flier and we would give you an address and a time. When you arrived you would walk down a small alley to an ad-hoc take out window. Customers routinely told us it reminded them of a drug deal. Despite the unorthodox setup, word began to spread. We, along with a wonderful small staff of our best friends, gradually went from making a handful of pizzas for curious neighbors, to selling over 100 pizzas every Sunday night. After about a year, we added Thursday nights as well. The community support was truly incredible and we are forever thankful to each customer who asked us when the ‘real’ restaurant was opening. At that point, though, we had clearly outgrown our shared kitchen space and had started to look around for our permanent home. We found it in a big, empty warehouse only four blocks from the original kitchen. The location meant that we would be able to continue to feed our loyal customers, who built our business from nothing. The space though, was a long way from being a restaurant but after a long nine months of very confusing construction, we were ready to open! On November 9, 2012, we served our first pie in our new restaurant. The rest is Delicious history….

Our brewery started in 2010 west of Port Angeles behind Harbinger Winery where they sold our beer in their tasting room. On brew days you could hear our founder, Tom brewing to the tunes of Pearl Jam, Bob Marley, The Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin and so on. It was his reprieve from a 30 plus year career in healthcare. Tom’s California beer drinking youth provided him with a strong affinity for the pioneers of craft brewing back when Sierra Nevada and Medocino Brewing were small. Our Head Brewer, Josh Blue has elevated our quality and creativity to a new level, making Barhop beer for the past 9 years.
